Can a perm really damage my hair? Do I have to let it grow out when I don't want it anymore?

I've been considering getting my hair permed, but I'm worried that it will get too damaged. My hair ir naturally straight and I get highlights every 4 or 5 months. It is not too damaged though. I would also like to know if you have to let your hair grow out when you don't want to get your hair permed anymore. Thanks!

Perms and Hilitess don't mix well as far as damage goes It depends on how much you have hilited it and the condition of your hair. And typically a perm well only last 3- 6 months. I would go get a consultation most salons do it for fre and it only takes like 15 min.

A perm can damage hair so badly it might fall out if coloured.

Perming your hair can damage it especially if you have bleach highlights. Choose your hairstylist very carefully and express your concerns with him/her first. Also, you will most likely have to let your perm grow out, but if you get bored with the curls, it's safe to straighten it with a high quality ceramic flat iron. Good Luck!

Getting a perm once a year wont make the hair demage, use lots of hair treatment produst if you are regularly highlight you hair.

Cause the chimical on the products it self will demage the hair. should consider to highlight may be twice a year. should be enough...

Have a nice day :)

hair is protein, a diet that is too low in protein may cause some thinning in hair or a retardation in the growth cycle. If you eat a protein-rich diet it will often result in improved hair growth. To Know more about your hair http://tipsfromruby-hairgrow.blogspot.co... will help you.
